Backgroundspecial-title-icon

For the first time, the 2023 Tencent AI Arena Artificial Intelligence National Open Competition is open to applications from students enrolled in higher education institutions across the country. The competition integrates scientific research resources, professional training, innovative events, and industry resources, aiming to promote learning through the competition and assist in the cultivation of AI professionals in universities nationwide. It seeks to establish a new ecosystem of industry-academia-research collaboration and promote the development of artificial intelligence research.

The competition is held on the Tencent AI Arena AI Open Research Platform ("Tencent AI Arena Platform"), where participants can access research resources, computing platforms, evaluation tools, and other research support services provided by Honor of Kings, Tencent AI Platform Department, and Tencent Neo-Culture Creativity Headquarters. Competitors have the opportunity to explore and enhance AI technology applications within the gaming scenario of Honor of Kings.

The prize money available for teams successfully submitting models and participating in the open qualifiers, semi-finals, and finals rankings for each track is set as follows. The amount is in RMB (pre-tax).

Gaming Algorithm Track (Total Prize Money: 700,000 RMB)


Intermediate (Total Prize Money: 200,000 RMB)

Champion: 60,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Runner-up: 30,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Third Place: 20,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Excellence Award (4th-8th place): 10,000 RMB + Competition Certificate

Merit Award (9th - 16th place): 5,000 RMB + Competition Certificate

Advanced (Total Prize Money: 500,000 RMB)

Champion: 200,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Runner-up: 100,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Third Place: 60,000 RMB + Competition Certificate + Trophy

Excellence Award (4th-8th place): 20,000 RMB + Competition Certificate

Merit Award (9th - 16th place): 5,000 RMB + Competition Certificate

Other Rewards

In addition to prize money, participating teams will receive:

1.Official participation certificates for completing the competition (successful model submission and validation).

2.Outstanding participants may receive internship opportunities with the Tencent AI Arena project, as well as eligibility for Tencent Group's campus recruitment and internship recruitment fast track. Specific details will be notified separately.

3.Outstanding teams will be invited to share at the Tencent STAC.

This track is open to full-time students from higher education institutions, including those in junior college and undergraduate programs. It is primarily aimed at students who are new to the field of reinforcement learning or have an interest in this area. Participants in this track are required to independently train their models and complete challenge tasks set in the 'Honor of Kings' scenario. Key areas of focus include: fundamental game AI development skills, solutions for single and multiple agents, model structure design, reinforcement learning algorithm design, and exploration of training methodologies

This track is open to full-time students from higher education institutions, including those in junior college, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, primarily targeting students with experience in reinforcement learning competitions and projects. Participants in this track are required to independently train their models and complete challenge tasks set in the 'Honor of Kings' scenario. The advanced track employs a gaming environment with a larger state space, necessitating more complex model structures and training strategies. Additionally, participants must consider the design of reward functions and explore agent collaboration. Key areas of focus include: solutions for single and multiple agents, and the exploration of model generalizability and versatility.

Algorithm Engineering Track
Track Prize Money  ¥ 230000
This track is exclusively open to teams from invited universities and research institutes. The competition theme for this track is derived from simulated business scenarios, primarily focusing on the adaptation, optimization, and deployment of AI agent models at the edge. Participants can approach from two dimensions: model compression algorithms and edge computing implementation. They are expected to modify the baseline model and optimize its computational implementation. The objective is to maximize the overall performance of local inference on specified mobile devices, while ensuring the model deployment meets the required standards.
